COVID-19 UPDATES
Your health and safety is our top priority
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
Our office has made some new changes to our protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to make sure we are doing our best in protecting our patients and our staff.
Here’s what you can expect:
Before your appointment
- To make sure patients are healthy, our team may call you to ask you some health-related questions before your scheduled visit
- You will be asked to limit the number of people you bring to your appointment (this could entail leaving your children at home or having older children go into the office alone)
When you arrive
- Please call 510-791-2111 to check-in
- Please wait in your car until we are ready to call you back so that we may let you know when we are ready to see you at the screening area. Please do not enter the office before calling us
During your appointment
- For your safety and ours, you’ll be asked to wear a mask for the entire visit. We will have you remove your mask for your treatment only
- You may notice our dental team are wearing more personal protective equipment (PPE) than you’re used to seeing
- We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use upon entering the office
- We will take and record your temperature
- We will ask you to fill out a COVID-19 Pandemic Dental Treatment Consent Form
- An oral rinse will be provided prior to being seated for treatment
After your appointment
- Schedule your next appointment on your way out. Your oral health is connected to your overall health, so one of the many ways you can stay healthy during these times is to keep up with regular dental care. We are here for you
- To prepare for the next patient, staff will thoroughly clean the areas you’ve been in using cleansers specifically designed to deactivate the COVID-19 virus
All of this is done with your health as our utmost priority. You can rest assured that we are taking every precaution to ensure that our office is optimized for maximum safety. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you have about your visit. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this uncertain time.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
